RAGE has been in dev for quite a while now. Nowhere near the stupid levels of dev-time that Duke Nukem Forever took, but I've certainly been hearing about it for a couple of years now, and Id and Bethesda have been nice enough to give us some lovely production footage for their upcoming game, with a current release date of October 2011. But that's not all they've given us, although the Behind the Scenes footage is, to be fair, quite juicy, showing off the world, the weapons, and the enemies. No, they've also, in collaboration with Dark Horse, released a tie-in comic, with issue 2 having been released quite recently, and the final issue coming quite soon.

So what is RAGE? Well, from what I can gather, it's a post-apocalyptic FPS, with all the usual ingredients (dystopian society, odd, cobbled together tech, random russian traders and mechanics, etcetera), looks and feels... well, a little bit like Prey, to be honest, although that's unsurprising, considering that it uses the latest version of Id's Tech Engine, which is also, as far as I am aware, being used in Prey 2, and Tech 3 had, of course, been used in Doom 3 and Prey 1.

The comic is also interesting, as it has cover art by 2000AD supremo Glenn Fabry (Yes, he of Slaine fame), is written by Arvid Nelson (Rex Mundi), and is pencilled by Andrea Mutti, best known for DMZ. So the comic's got pedigree, and is written in direct collaboration with RAGE's creative director, Tim Willits. As you can see from our preview shots of the comic, it's moderately meaty, with the quality we've come to expect from Dark Horse.

As noted, RAGE will be released in October 2011 (barring misfortune), and hopefully, Game-Boyz will be taking a look!
