The Blue Ant Q1 is an excellent Bluetooth head set. It’s lightweight, attractive, innovative and offers excellent sound quality. It’s also one of the coolest, if not coolest, Bluetooth headsets available on the market.

The Q1 can pair up with 8 devices, cell phones & laptops. It can also work with two devices at the same time.The unit is very compact (depth .27 inches, width .63, length 2.13). It has two microphones and Voice Isolation technology. There’s a multifunction button on the face of the unit and the volume controls are on the side. Charged via the USB ac adaptor or straight USB.

Connecting to your cell phone is a snap and easy as 1, 2, 3.

The innovation lies in the voice activation technology. The Phrase “voice activation” usually conjures up nightmares of repeating sentences and phrases. Not so with the Q1, basically just clip it on your ear and start saying commands. There is a “Teach Me” tutorial that plays through the earpiece when you first put it on. This tutorial goes through the various commands at your disposal. There is very small learning curve but even the most technically challenged people will be up and using voice commands in no time at all. If you forget some of these commands you can easily remember them by repeating the “What can i say command”. Another handy voice commands is “Check the battery”. Sometimes i had to “re-say” a command but not frequently. In fact i would say that as far as “voice command” technology goes the Q1 is the best I’ve used to date.

The Q1 has two silicone ear buds, for different size ears, and a second ear clip. It does take some adjusting to get the Q1 to fit properly. I suggest that you spend a little time doing this when you first get the headset. Nothing worse than having a poorly fitting ear piece to drive you batty. Once i got the proper fitting it was like it wasn’t there. The unit is so light and unobtrusive i forgot i was wearing it half the time.
Sound quality was very good; the voices were crisp and clear. Due in large part to the two microphones and Voice Isolation technology. Noise Isolation Technology has two modes “Standard” and “Max”. I live on an island in the Pacific Ocean so the max feature was tested right away. Overall voice quality was still good even with winds gusting up to 30 MPH. Could people tell that i was outside “Yes” could they understand what i was saying “Yes” and could i hear them clearly “Yes”.
